Q + A

Attire: Cocktail

We’re excited to celebrate our wedding with you in beautiful Evergreen, Colorado, this February! Though the ceremony and reception will be indoors, it’s winter in the mountains, so please plan for chilly weather. Cocktail attire is requested. The wedding party will be wearing dark green, so we kindly ask that you avoid wearing this color to keep it special for them. Feel free to coordinate with other complementary shades or festive winter hues! We’ll have coat racks available for your convenience, so don’t forget a warm coat for any outdoor moments. Looking forward to celebrating with you!

Is there parking available or will transportation be provided?

There will be plenty of parking. but we will also be providing transportation from your accommodations in Golden to the venue. If you'd like us to add a stop near where you’re staying, please let us know! We recommend staying on or near Washington Avenue for convenience, as it offers easy access to the most popular things to do in the area.

What should I know about traveling in the mountains in winter?

https://maps.cotrip.org/ is an incredibly useful tool in planning your trip through the mountains. You can take I-70 from the Denver airport west to Evergreen which is only an hour drive. Traveling through the mountains in winter requires you to adhere to the Traction Law which requires one of AWD or 4WD, winter tires, or chains - https://www.codot.gov/travel/winter-driving/tractionlaw.

Where should I stay to avoid winter mountain conditions?

To avoid any mountain related travel, you can stay in Golden and take the provided shuttle about 35 minutes to and from the venue. Golden is only 40 minutes west of the Denver Airport and not in the mountains.

What if there is a snowstorm the weekend of the wedding?

https://maps.cotrip.org/ will show any weather-related impacts to your route. Although unlikely, in the case of severe snowstorm I-70 could be shut down or a chain law may be enforced which makes travel near impossible. Although it is still TBD, we expect the shuttles to still be able to pick up in Golden and shuttle to the venue through alternative routes.

If I am driving to the venue from Golden, what route should I take?

Driving I-70 W to CO-74 S is the more reliable route in the winter. Avoid N Turkey Creek Road if there is recent snow on the ground, as it is less likely to be maintained.
